Escape the city and experience the country charm of the Uraidla & Summertown Country Show!
Basket Range Sandstone, Adelaide Hills and the local Uraidla and Summertown community invite you and your family to join the 131st Uraidla & Summertown Country Show on Sunday November 3rd from 9am to 9pm.
The agricultural and horticultural show is renown for being a fun, family-friendly and affordable spring day out in the beautiful Adelaide Hills.
Where else can you experience a jam-packed day of entertainment and activities, including tree climbing, a cherry spitting competition, a medieval Moat Perrier launching watermelons across the oval, heaps of competitive sections from flowers to fowls, good food with local wines and of course, the Uraidla & Districts SACWA country kitchen!
Over the last few years, the show has grown from a small country town show to a large statewide event, attracting 7-9,000 eventgoers.
The small town of Uraidla is a short 25-minute drive from Adelaide, providing a picturesque taste of country life within a country community.
What's on in 2019!
In addition to hosting large and diverse competitive sections from fruit and veg, to handicrafts, photography, flowers and baking, this year's event also incorporates the Uraidla Sustainability Fair. The fair will showcase sustainable lifestyle options and industry experts will be on hand, providing enlightening presentations throughout the day.
The Uraidla Show is also very proud to be hosting the South Australian Freestyle Tree Climbing Competition featuring professional and semi-professional tree climbers who will race to the top of a magnificent pine tree. This will be an incredible spectacle set in the centre of the showgrounds!
Timber Frames Australia is back by popular demand and will be showing their Moat Perrier sling on show day with demonstrations of their incredible medieval sling hauling watermelons across the oval.
The Australian Army Air Defence Capability Display is also returning with an array of impressive machinery. There will also be must-see demonstrations by the Yard Dogs, proudly celebrating 25 years at the Uraidla Show this year, Log Chopping, along with traditional Tiersman Challenge and let's not forget various livestock and colourful floral displays.
There will also be a diverse variety of stalls for young and old, plus rides and entertainment. Grab a glass of wine from one of the magnificent local wineries, enjoy soaking up the country show atmosphere as you delve into some great food and listen to one of the talented acoustic artists on the oval at the Adelaide Recycled Timbers stage.
The astounding line-up of talented artists, each with distinct and exciting sounds, includes Finns and Runebilly Rattle, Wet Weather Policy, and Queen of Darts. These local musical talents will provide entertainment for all visitors to dance into the afternoon and the night.
The Uraidla Show is a unique, fun day out, not just for the local community, but for the whole of South Australia! Relish the Adelaide Hills at its best, experience local produce, and absorb the entertainment and atmosphere alongside family and friends.
With a low entry fee of $10 for adults, kids under 12 free and plenty of free events and entertainment, it's the perfect family day out.
