Uraidla Bakery, Cafe and Brewery

On a drizzling Tuesday, after the long weekend, I thought a drive into the hills would be nice and a visit the Botanical Gardens and lake. It is the first time the husband had come, to hold the umbrella of course. It was a beautiful drive up there - I didn't listen to the GPS as it wanted to take me through the suburbs. We came across Uraidla. I have never stopped there before but saw the sign "Bakery". And any sign in the Adelaide hills saying "Bakery", you have to stop.
Well, what a beautiful place it was. I asked if I could take some photos and was politely told, "yes, of course". Charming is the word that comes to mind.
As we walked in, it just got bigger inside. Ample chairs and tables and the locals were using them. Once inside, you understood that it was a café, bakery and brewery. How wonderful.
Charming seating inside and outside. Retro, trendy, colourful, so much to take in.
Once we had a good look around, we ordered our coffee and food. Yum ham and cheese croissant, hubby had a chicken and curry pie. Such friendly people there. Highly recommend to go there - we will be going again.
It would have been nice to have the time to sit and have a lunch there but we were on a time limit, suburbia awaits.
The choice of food to eat was ample and the beautiful loaves of bread to buy. A real country experience. All made by them. Pies, sausage rolls, pasties, salad, beautiful looking sandwiches and of course, the cakes.
Nothing like a country style bakery. They make their own bread.
They have a selection of wine on show to buy, locals supporting locals.
So next time you meandering through the hills, stop and have a look if you have seen this place before.
It was definitely a trip made all the more interesting because of a little shop we found in Uraidla - The Uraidla Café, Bakery and Brewery. Thank you.
