Owned by the same people as UR Caffe, UR Wood Fire Pizzeria specialises in Italian cuisine with wood-fired pizza as the key part of the menu. Service was efficient with our dishes not taking long to arrive after we had placed our order.

Their pizzas were of the thin-crust variety with the crust having the toasted flavour typical of a wood-fired pizza. The marinated steak in the Roman Roots Pizza was cooked just right and the prawns were juicy. The prawns had a delectable garlic flavour that was not overpowering. Cherry tomatoes added a burst of sweetness and a lemon wedge came with the pizza to add tanginess.

The flesh of the Buffalo Wings came off the bones easily and the degree of spiciness is suitable for most tastes. It had the background sour taste you would expect of buffalo wings and a bed of rocket leaves added freshness. Blue cheese sauce or extra spiciness can be added at an additional cost.

The Greek Salad had a generous amount of salad greens. The inclusion of rocket leaves added a hint of peppery flavour. Extra flavour and texture were provided by cherry tomatoes and Spanish onion. The salad dressing gave the dish a tangy taste. We had the bocconcini served on the side.

Their Wedges were cooked to golden brown with light and fluffy interiors. The interior is steaming hot so take some care when eating them. As you would expect, the wedges were accompanied by sour cream and sweet chilli sauce.

The décor gave the restaurant a rustic feel. Diners have the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. If you are looking for a good place to enjoy pizza at Melbourne Street, consider giving UR Wood Fire Pizzeria a visit.
