They have a saying about this market, according to coordinator Leanne Fitzgerald who is also the Team Leader of the Coonara Community House, "If you make it, bake it, or grow it then we want you here in Upwey with a stall on the 30th April 2016 for our Grass Roots market".



What that means for you and me is all original homemade goods and goodies and fresh produce to die for and in time to buy mums or ourselves something extra special, out of the ordinary, and delectable.



And what a wonderful day to escape the city to the autumn leaf-covered hills of Melbourne. You can spend all day roaming the stalls, eating mouth watering tantalizing treats, and bring your kids, and dogs on leads. No, I don't think the kids will need leads, but then again, there are some kids who might.



Dress ups are a nice touch for both pooch and adorable little ones to add to the adventure. Why not, just to join in the festive atmosphere on the day. Get your list of Mother's Day gift ideas together and be prepared to throw it out when you discover ever more unique gifts to splurge on.



Look around your garden before you leave for all those empty spots, as you will be filling them with the special plants on offer and direct prices. Then snap a photo. Bring your photos to the grower, maybe on your phone, and let them find the perfect plant for the perfect spot.



By this time you are going to need an afternoon snack before you head back to the big smoke with your haul of goodies. And with all those luscious smells, you are going to have a hard time selecting that final treat. So see you in Main Street, Upwey from 10 am to 3 pm for a chat and a splurge on April 30th, 2016.
