Located opposite the Palace Nova Cinema in Prospect, The Upside on Prospect is a café where you can enjoy a good range of Australian café-style food. In addition to the dishes on their main menu, you can also enjoy various specials of the day.
The grilled chicken in their Chicken Club had the degree of char-grilled flavour we desired, with the bacon providing a bit of smoky flavour. Freshness was provided by the lettuce and tomatoes and the aioli helped to tie everything together. We also liked that the ciabatta roll was lightly toasted so it did not become soggy from the ingredients.

A good choice for something not too filling, the beef brisket in their Brisket Sliders was juicy with a good amount of savoury flavour and was partnered well by the saffron aioli. Instead of the usual brioche buns, this dish used buns that included charcoal to give it an eye-catching appearance. Both this dish and the Chicken Club came with a serving of chips fried to golden brown with the right amount of salt.

Among the dishes that form part of the café's all day breakfast selection, their 3 Egg Omelette was light and fluffy, with the chorizo imparting the dish with a delectable smoky flavour. Also included in the dish were cherry tomatoes, pesto and a nutty element. Accompanying the omelette was toasted ciabatta bread and butter that can be enjoyed with it. All of our dishes also included tomato relish that had a wonderful slightly sweet taste.
The décor gave the café a clean, airy causal feel and there is a choice of indoor seating or tables on the deck overlooking the street. Its location makes it convenient for moviegoers to grab a bite to eat before or after their movie session.
