This beautiful building will celebrate 80 years of serving the Upper Sturt community in 2015. It was built as a Mother's memorial to their lost sons following the end of the first world war.
The Upper Sturt Community Association maintains the hall, and is holding a Strawberry Fair and Market on the 1st of November to finance an enclosed lockable storage area inside the hall. This dedicated group of volunteers care for the Hall and have previously raised funds for a kitchen upgrade and new toilets.
Celebrate the start of Summer, outdoors, at the Upper Sturt Strawberry Fair and Market. There will be fresh local strawberries with cream or ice cream; new books and pre-loved books, bric-a-brac and brac-a-bric, plants, morning tea, lovingly baked home-made cakes, biscuits and slices, chutneys, jams and marmalade, fresh grown produce, sizzling sausages and lots more.
A number of community groups use the Hall including the
Hills Table Tennis Association . It is available for hire for engagement parties, weddings and children's birthday parties. The
Sturt Upper Reaches Landcare Group also meet in the Hall and manage a section of land owned by the Hall.
Visitors to the Strawberry Fair and Market are invited to follow the downward path and enjoy the quiet bush revegetation area.
