Recycled bike wheels spin in a creative wind mill

I like parks that are a bit quirky and imaginative and Upper Kedron Recreation Reserve seems to fit the bill. As soon as you arrive, a recycled weather vane made of shiny bike tyres greets you, then you wander through a series of re-claimed concrete tunnels imaginatively painted by the local high school art class (thank you Ferny Grove High School Year 9, 2005).

The park has incorporated plenty of local Casuarina Trees for shade, as well as shade cloth over much of the play areas.

There is a huge sand play section, swings, slides, a colourful Liberty Swing (especially designed for kids in wheel chairs), multi-storey climbing web, several gas BBQs, wheel chair access toilets and an AFL oval located right next door.

Upper Kedron Recreation Park is well designed and creatively considered - I loved the general recycled theme and the thoughtful ideas to encourage little people to take note of the flow of the wind.
