The Colour Box Studio, a Community Creative Hub & Pop Up Art Space in Footscray, is hosting a handful of workshops as part of their Fashion Month.

The Upcycled Bead Workshop may be of interest to anyone with a passion for recycling potential waste into pretty objects.

Run by upcycling enthusiast Erica Louise of Recycled Fashion, Erica will be teaching a technique of cutting, rolling, and gluing cardboard paper to make a small bead with which to produce a colourful necklace or bracelet. The same technique will allow you to create a pair of recycled earrings.

You'll leave the class learning a simple craft which can be achieved on an almost zero budget, by using material that have the potential to otherwise end up in landfill.

Did you think you could craft old cereal boxes, greetings cards, or tissue boxes into funky bracelets and necklaces? In just three hours on a Saturday afternoon, Erica will show you that you can. You'll walk away with a pretty necklace or bracelet for yourself, or as a gift for a loved one.

You'll never look the same way at a cereal box again.
