Untitled Cafe happily blends food with art - the DIY kind. Located under the Melbourne Studio of Art, it offers brushes, paints and paper for you to enjoy as you wait for your order.

You may also choose to wander into the art supplies business at the back which offers plenty of choice, including handmade oil paints.

Open for breakfast and lunch, the cafe is bathed in sun, even in winter. Breakfast can be a simple orange and sultana fruit loaf or something cooked, like french toast, eggs benedict or field mushrooms, served with poached eggs and Danish feta.

Lunch here might be a large, healthy tuna salad, feta and pumpkin omelette or house-made pies or sausage rolls. There are plenty of gluten free options.

Minestrone at Untitled Cafe

Prices are about $3 to $15.

I'm not keen on cafes showing videos but Untitled projects interesting black and white movies. They range from Fritz Lang's Metropolis to very early Mickey Mouse. Priceless.

The Five Senses coffee is good and soup comes with Philippa's bread.
