The Fabric and Felt Studio is offering an exciting NEW series of interactive Embroidery Classes in 2025.

Led by Shelley Burton, this is an opportunity to try your hand at the traditional art of embroidery with a modern approach and meet awesome 'crafty' friends in a fun, encouraging and supportive environment.

Discover the art of embroidery, which has resurged in popularity in recent years for several compelling reasons.

In today’s fast-paced world, finding solace in the simple act of stitching is a welcome escape.

It is therapeutic and a meditative experience, allowing you to momentarily detach from worldly worries and refocus on life’s essentials.

Builds patience - Learning the invaluable skill of slowing down and embracing solitary moments is a remarkable boost for your mental well-being.

Enhances creativity - Try your hand at the unique processes and produce something beautiful and original by the end of the session!

All are welcome, whether you are new to the wonderful world of embroidery or looking to expand your skills. All required materials are supplied.

Embroidery Brooch Class

Dates: Saturday 26 April, 2025, 9.30am-12.30pm
Cost: $45.00 per person including tuition and all materials

Escape into a morning of creativity where you can relax and immerse yourself in the art of stitching. In this informal class, there is no rigid structure - just the freedom to craft your own one-of-kind brooch! Perfect for your winter coat or to gift to a loved one!

Embroidery Needle Book Workshop

Dates: Saturday 3 May 9.30am-1.30pm and Saturday 10 May 9.30am-12.30pm
Cost: $120.00 per person including tuition and all materials

Come and immerse yourself in this workshop running over two mornings, where you will create this decorative and useful needle book.

Embroidery - Wendy Williams Bamboo Steamer Sewing Basket Class

When: Saturday 17 May 2025, 9.30am – 2.45pm
Cost: $105.00 per person including tuition, all materials and Wendy Williams Flying Fish pattern to take home

Embroidery is a great way to unwind and be in the moment and in this class, you will make something that is not only useful but decorative! Inspired by Wendy Williams’ enchanting ‘Bamboo Steamer Bowl’ pattern, you'll work with the exceptional 100% wool felt from My Felt Lady, renowned for its resilience and sewability and craft a decorative top perfectly tailored to a seven-inch bamboo steamer.

Individual tuition is available, as well as private group classes upon request (a minimum of 4 people is required). Private group classes are a great option for a baby shower, hens night, birthday party or just a girl's day out!
