A new weekly farmer's market is being launched at the University of Melbourne on Wednesday 4 March 2015 from 11am to 3pm by Think, Eat, Talk, Grow. It'll be coupled with a whole day of fun and food activities for everyone. Hosted by the University, in partnership with the Carlton Connect Initiative, and Melbourne Farmers' Market, food producers, farmers and gastronomers from these three organisations will be there.
You can have discussions with these experts about food, sustainability and seasonality. Perhaps you have questions about planting your own veggie patch or about the science of gastronomy. Grab some lunch from the many quality producers at Union Lawn Lunchbox Market on the day (Wed 4 Mar) . Part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, the market will run every week on a Wednesday from 11am to 3pm for the next 3 months.
This event will run in 2 parts. The daytime component is free to attend and will be an open air affair from 11am to 3pm, filled with fun and food activities for the public.
The evening portion from 6pm to 8.30pm will be a Q&A discussion led by host and epicurean Richard Cornish along with a cocktail menu by Chef Matt Wilkinson, co owner of Pope Joan.
