If you want to have a fun day out with the whole family including the dogs while supporting a good cause, then enter The Unity Walk and Run.
Most of you might already do a casual 4 km walk each weekend with your dogs or friends. So the main event of an easy 4 km walk is very doable. If you want to be a bit more active, then you can also compete for fun in a distance run. There will be a 4km run and 7km run. This year Parkinson's NSW have partnered with Athletics NSW to include the Sydney Half Marathon into the event. The event will also host lots of free activities and entertainment, including a warm-up performance, giant slide and petting zoo.
As there is currently no known cause or cure FUNDRAISING is a vital part of this event. All participates are encouraged to create an online fundraising page and attempt to raise funds. All profits from the event go directly to funding research into finding a cure for Parkinson's Disease.
This race attracts runners of all abilities, from the more competitive to the recreational runner ready to take the step up to a 21km half marathon. The run will be based from Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre and will include a finish within the track.
