Unite Alliance is a program run together by
Headspace Dandenong (their
Facebook page) and the
City of Greater Dandenong Youth Services . It's a platform for young people of all gender identities to advocate for human rights and equality, whilst providing support for those who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex or Queer (LGBTIQ).
The wellbeing of LGBTIQ young people living in the Greater Dandenong region, and educating the broader community on the unique issues these young people face, is the focus of Unite Alliance.
A weekly meeting is held to develop awareness campaigns and projects, that aims to break down homophobia and discrimination within the community. It's a program that's open to ALL young people between the ages of 14 and 21, including same sex attracted, gender diverse young people, and alliances.
Through a combination of support, education and advocacy, opportunities are provided to empower young people to live successful lives. As part of the alliance, your contributions to the development of an inclusive community, that's accepting of all forms of sexual and gender diversity is encouraged.
The weekly meetings alternate between project development, discussion group sessions, and event participation. Check out their
Facebook page .
