With many restrictions being lifted across Sydney and New South Wales (at time of writing), it is time to leave those pots and dine out!
The list below features unique dining experiences across Sydney, from quirky and romantic to having fun in a small social gathering and the ultimate proposal surprise!
1. Aquarium Private Dining
Where: SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, 1-5 Wheat Rd, Darling Harbour
Cost: From $450 per couple.
Details: This "underwater" experience will include an evening of a self-guided tour around the aquarium, cocktail on arrival, three-course dinner, two-hour drink package, and intimate dinner locations set up in the New Day and Night on the Reef Zone. Due to current government restrictions (COVID-19 restrictions), there will be up to 4 couples on a night to experience the private dining. You can also hire the aquarium for a dining experience of up to 10 guests.

2. Food Truck Experience

Details: Feast on tasty food truck delights with spectacular harbour views. Food trucks include a range of fresh seafood, share plates, burgers, tacos, salads, a wide selection of cocktails and beverages.

3. Shirt Bar
Where: Tower 1, Cnr Scotch Row & Shipwright Walk, Barangaroo
Cost: Small plates start from $16
Details: This quirky combination of shopping, eating and drinking is a one-stop-shop experience. Located on the water's edge in Barangaroo, you will find an old school, vintage vibe, shirts stacked up like books, rows upon rows of alcohol shelves, and a delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner menu.

4. 360 Bar & Dining
Where: Westfield Sydney, Castlereagh St, Sydney
Cost: See website.
Details: This unique dining experience combines fine dining with spectacular continuous revolving views. This rotating restaurant gives you 360-degree views of Sydney's skyline while enjoying seasonal and fresh produce, complemented by signature cocktails and award-winning wines. Please note that the restaurant is undergoing refurbishment and will re-open in September 2020.

5. Via Napoli Pizzeria
Where: Lane Cove, Hunters Hill and Surry Hills

Details: This Italian owned restaurant serves up some of the best Italian food in Sydney. What makes this Italian restaurant unique dining experience is their large open spaces, timber seating and the marble and rose gold touches, as well as their 1 metre and 5-metre pizzas!

6. Luxe Igloo Suites
Where: Pier One Sydney Harbour,
Cost: $200 hire fee and a minimum $400 spend applies for food and beverages.
Details: This unique and quirky winter dining experience features igloos perched above the pier on-suite balconies that overlook the spectacular harbour.
There are two igloo experiences: Dream Igloo Suite and Hot Tub Igloo Suite. Both these Igloo experiences include a maximum of 10 "socially distanced" people spaced throughout the suite, stunning views, private balcony with cosy furnishings and cushions, daybed, and more.
The Hot Tub Igloo also features a hot tub complete with bathrobes and towels.
The food menu includes seafood, desserts, share platters, drinks, and more.
There is an Igloo Suite Proposals which includes your own private igloo, event coordination, igloo hire, professionally styled romantic setting, mood lighting, catering, photographer, and personal touches- see website for details.

7. Private Dining at HostCo
Where: Level 4, University of Sydney, Holme Building, Science Rd, Sydney
Cost: $85pp
Details: With restrictions slowly being lifted, HostCo is back, and this unique private dining experience features dining in private in an intimate room with a special sharing menu. The private dining menu includes a glass of sparkling wine on arrival, entrée, main, sides, and dessert.

8. Winter Igloos
Where: Cargo Bar, 52-60 The Promenade, King Street Wharf, Darling Harbour
Cost: $59pp (available for 2-8 guests per igloo)
Details: The Winter Igloos are back and ready to be enjoyed. This harbourside unique dining experience includes a bespoke igloo menu and 2-hour drinks packages, including 2-hours of house beer or wine.

9. Breakfast with the Koalas
Where: WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, 1-5 Wheat Rd, Darling Harbour
Cost: Adults: $60pp & Children: $50pp
Details: This unique and adorable dining experience will give you the opportunity to meet the cute & cuddly koalas, all while enjoying a delicious hot buffet breakfast.
Breakfast with the Koalas runs from 7:15am and includes a one hour guided highlights tour, hot buffet breakfast, informative Keeper talk, general admission, and opportunity to take a Koala photo to take home.

10. Acre Eatery- A Farm-to-Table Experience
Where: Acre Artarmon, 1 Fredrick St, Artarmon

Details: Camperdown's Acre Eatery will be soon providing a farm-to-table foodie experience. This new venture will feature rich indoor-outdoor experience with the sustainability-focused farm-to-table restaurant.
It will open in September 2020 and will provide an immersive experience with touching, smelling and wandering through the produce, local and exotic trees, and grassy lawns. Other experiences will include guided kitchen tours, kitchen demonstrations from renowned chefs, meet-the-maker tastings, twilight gardening, fresh produce markets, and much more.
