Unicorn Falls & Waterhole is a hidden gem in Northern NSW located in Mount Jerusalem National Park. You can enjoy a great day out to this quiet waterfall spot possibly with a picnic at the top of the falls or by enjoying the peaceful serenity of the rainforest surrounding.



If you're feeling more adventurous, you can climb down the left side of the waterfall to a series of creeks and micro-falls. Be sure to keep an eye out for wildlife. The National Park isn't as developed as its neighbouring parks but due to the smaller fraction of visitors it has a large variety of rare and endangered plants plus tree-dwelling animals that call this place home. Please keep this in mind when visiting Mount Jerusalem to not disrupt its manner of conservation.



How To Get To The Falls:

The closest township with supplies to Mount Jerusalem National Park is Uki, approximately a fifteen-minute drive. A General Store can accommodate for picnic options and there is also a Petrol Station so you don't become stuck in the National Park. From the town, head along Rowlands Creek Road which winds through pristine countryside and then becomes Manns Road. It is an unsealed road, however, I drive a 2WD and manage just fine along the track.

Drive along Manns Road until you reach a left turn for South Chowan Road. This road does become a bit bumpy but once you hit the first bridge (pictured below) you have reached your destination on the left-hand side. There is a small car park on South Chowan Road but if it is full, use the larger carpark (pictured second) by taking the left-hand turn directly after the bridge.





The magical spot of Unicorn Falls has been a "wild swimming" tradition amongst locals for years. So I'd like to say a big thank you to the two friendly locals who pointed me in the right direction for this trail. I'll definitely be returning to this spot in the future for its sheer natural beauty and the quiet meditation it offers.
