A slap from the universe to wake you up
unfck yourself book review

Unf*ck Yourself by Gary John Bishop is a great read to get out of your head and into your life. It's an easy read and a wakeup call to stop believing in your negative self-talk.

It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light Aristotle.

After the introduction, each chapter is based on a life philosophy which Gary explains in full. These personal assertions are:
I am willing
I am wired to win
I got this
I embrace the uncertainty
I am not my thoughts; I am what I do
I am relentless
I expect nothing and accept everything

Scattered throughout the book are quotes and examples. There are exercises to get you to start putting things back into perspective. I like what Gary says about what we are dealing with "everything on your plate at this point in time is just another something in the sea of somethings".

Gary is a life coach and as a result, as he has an uncanny way of peeling apart your most common excuses.

Unf*ck Yourself is a great read for those stuck in a rut, cynical or bored with life.
