"Granny Day Care" arrived on a warm and humid day on the Sunshine Coast and I was racking my brains as to what to do to keep my two year old grandson occupied indoors and was delighted to find "Fishy Fun for Two" - a special at Underwater World Sea Life, Mooloolaba, promising a fun-filled morning out for me and the little one.

The mid-week Special runs from Monday to Friday (this one is valid until 24 March 2016) and includes:-

One adult entry;
One child entry (3 years and under); plus
One hot beverage from the Octopus Garden Cafe

and all for just $20!

The outing proved to be an absolute delight. On entering Underwater World, one is met by a photographer who took some beautiful shots, which were available on exiting, should one want to purchase them.

The first section had Starfish on display, which could be handled by the children - the guide had to stop my grandson from squeezing them to death, but the bonus was being able to splash in the water!

The big tanks had divers feeding the fish, which was fascinating to watch and most of the large tanks have a small platform where a toddler could sit quite comfortably (to ease Granny's arms) and watch the spectacular array of fish on display. There were sharks, mantra rays, jelly fish and even seals, that were delighted to have an audience for their underwater-antics.

A child play-area (a recent addition, I was told) is part of the Cafe area, where children can play, while awaiting our order of refreshments.

All in all an adventurous way to spend a morning and well worth the effort!
