PolleyVision for Playtime Film and Theatre Productions is excited to host Under The Radar - The Incredibly Short Film Festival.
Held on Saturday 22nd of April 2017 at State Library of Western Australia, this special one-day short film festival will present a unique showcase of unscreened, undiscovered and underground cinematic gems by talented and emerging Perth filmmakers.
The festival will kick off at 6.30pm and during the evening, cinema lovers will be treated to a curated selection of high-quality short films in a variety of genres and styles.
Festival program highlights include:
'A hard bitten ex-con tries to break free from his former life and reconnect with the family he abandoned years before.'
'Set in the mid-90s, Kyle, a young boy is up late watching old horror movies on TV when a burglar breaks into the house...
The burglar and Kyle slowly form a bond, and a true friendship, only for some darker secrets to come to the forefront, as well as the burglars true intentions...'
'Hopper, a paranoid computer hacker discloses his latest conspiracy theory with special agents Bryan and Jack before things turn sour.'
'On his first visit to a local laundromat, a man has a fateful chance encounter with his wife- five years after she walked out'
'Alone in space, an astronaut drifts alone through the empty void. After finding another astronaut in the same predicament, she gives him a polaroid image of the Earth. They then team up to go on an epic journey across the universe to get back to earth. Will these star-crossed lovers find home?
'Sara's life has become a prison, but breaking free is hard. With the support of a friend and
encouragement from her daughter, will Sara have the courage to escape before it's too late?'
'Aera' a young girl escaping a doomed star freighter finds herself in a marooned escape pod running out of air. Guided by the only other survivor from the ship's wreckage (a badly damaged medical droid), she must locate an undamaged escape pod to seek refuge until a rescue ship arrives.'
'A woman, lonely and alienated, is being plagued by the thought of a demonic entity living inside her bedroom. Abandoned by her husband, she begins to fall deeper into despair, severe depression and psychosis as she starts to wonder if she is becoming what she fears most.'
'Two teenagers come face to face with death in the form of a dead stranger in the middle of nowhere. Their personal morals and lives are brought into questioning in an awakening of self-doubt, adulthood and ultimately friendship.'
