Are you a camper at heart and love nature and fresh air but hate all the carrying, building, discomfort (as I do) of traditional camping? Well, now you can rejoice at the experience of glamping. Parks Victoria is running a trial glamping opportunity at two sites across the Parks. One of these is provided by Under Sky at the Lake Catani campground in the Mount Buffalo National Park.
Glamping provides all the great things about camping and none of the discomforts. Your canvas bell tent is already built when you arrive and it provides a comfortable queen size bed with linen, floor rugs, towels, and daily housekeeping. There is a small gas stove for all your cooking needs and a small Esky (bring your own ice) as well as crockery and cutlery. There are hot showers and toilets on site, and a washing up area and communal shelter for Under Sky campers to enjoy.
Mount Buffalo National Park offers beautiful Alpine scenery stunning waterfalls and opportunities for meeting the local fauna. There are many activities you can undertake in this scenic area, hiking, mountain climbing, horse riding, visiting wineries and breweries and tasting local food and produce. There is something for everyone and at the end of the day, you have your "glam" tent and a very comfortable bed to look forward to. Beats the blow-up mattress every time!
The trial glamping period runs from 2nd October till 17th December 2018 and hopefully will continue next year too. You can check out all the details of what the glamping experience is all about and book here. There are 10 bell tents on site, so hurry and book before they are all booked out.
