Go on a free and interactive guided educational tour
As part of NAIDOC Week in 2015, the Umbrella Walking Tours are taking place on Sunday 5th July and Sunday 12th July from 12pm to 1:30pm at Neil Hawkins Park in Joondalup.
NAIDOC Week celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and cultures and recognises their contribution to Australia. The interactive walking tours, which are back due to popular demand, are guided by Greg Nannup of Indigenous Tours WA. Participants are led on a rich discovery to explore local Indigenous history, culture and places of significance as they learn about traditional Aboriginal culture and listen to stories from the dreamtime.
Participants will receive a free hot chocolate on arrival, and the duration and distance of the tour will be approximately 90 minutes and 1 kilometre of walking. This event is free to attend but registration is required and places are limited so register your attendance here. For further information, visit the events page on the NAIDOC website or call the City of Joondalup on 9400 4230 for a great educational experience.
