Chevron Island – The Ultimate Girls Day OutAfter moving from Brisvegas 18 months ago, I have lived on, and loved, my new home, Chevron Island. So I thought I would give you an update on "who's new in the zoo" on Chevron Island.

The Island, as the locals call it, has a great community feel to it. A lot of the store owners and staff live on the island so they are invested in the harmony and happiness of the shopping village.
I remember my very first visit to The Village, I walked into a fashion boutique and the owner asked me to mind her store while she popped to the bathroom - very friendly and not to mention trusting.

The amazing thing about The Village is all of the shops are in one convenient block and parking is easy, both on the main street or one of the side streets. With eight cafes and restaurants, eight fashion boutiques, two shoe stores, four bars and a whopping 13 hair and beauty houses, Chevron Island is your one-stop-shopping trip. The Ultimate Girls Day OutIf you're planning a hen's party or bridal shower or perhaps just a girlie get-together, come on down for Saturday Brunch and a little bit of retail therapy. Drop the guys off at the Island's Sport Bar, Inn Forty Seven for a few beers and tell them you'll see them in a few hours. Start with BrunchMy favourite brunch spots are Lime on Chevronn , Café Alfons or 58 The Villag e. All of these cafes serve a very good brunch with great organic coffee. The thing you will notice about these little cafes is the customer service. The staff really love and enjoy their jobs and who wouldn't, working on such a fabulous part of the Gold Coast?

Katen Interiors

Mother and daughter owners Kate and Helen have combined not only their names but their backgrounds in fashion and design to create the beautiful Katen Interiors pictured here.

Walking into Katen Interiors is like walking into the home you've always dreamed of with furniture for lounge and bedroom, soft furnishings, artwork, mirrors, soaps and candles plus womenswear/accessories and baby and kids.

Starting off as an online e-decoration service, they have now grown to include their own store on Thomas Drive. Their store has a dedicated Interior Design Studio where you can sit and chat with Kate and Helen about your interior design vision.

We Love ShoesIt wouldn't be an article about Chevron Island without a little shout out to my favourite shoe shop, Envy Shoes.

In my opinion this is the best shoe store on the Coast. The shoes are always current, edgy and reasonably priced. They have a fabulous end of season sale on at the moment. Follow them on Facebook as that is where you'll find the best deals.
