A plucking good time

They've been called 'plucking brilliant' by the Sunday Times. Others have said they're 'virtuosic' and 'great entertainers'. The good news is that The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain are packing their uke cases and heading back to Australia for a return tour. Performances can be enjoyed at Brisbane's Concert Hall at QPAC on February 18, Sydney's State Theatre on February 19 and Melbourne's newly refurbished Hamer Hall on February 20.

The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain will play at Melbourne's newly refurbished Hamer Hall.

The orchestra have been together since 1985 and have helped to inspire the 'uke boom' which has seen ukulele groups forming in many cities around the world. They play a diverse range of reconstituted covers from the likes of Lady Gaga, Adele, Junior Walker, Black Sabbath and Michael Jackson. A performance by The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain is guaranteed to have you snapping your fingers, tapping your feet and wondering how on earth they do it. Tickets vary in price from $79.90 to $109.90 and can be booked online.
