If you are looking for an excuse to visit Brisbane's vibrant inner-city suburb of West End, then I've got it.
Ugees is a cute and intimate cafe that is regularly enjoyed by locals for its exceptionally good coffee at comparatively affordable prices. If you, like me, enjoy soy milk in your coffee then Ugees is definitely the place for you because unlike the vast majority of cafes these days, they do not charge extra for it, it is considered completely normal, and so it should be. The coffee here is of the highest quality, consistently carefully crafted outstanding coffee. Every cup, every day, every week, every time, whether its soy milk, full-cream, skinny, latte, flat white, cappuccino, it's always perfect.
Located on busy Boundary Street, Ugees has recently been renovated and expanded to cater for its ever growing customer base. The renovations showcase the best of modern, industrial styled interiors with polished wooden stools and benches and clean concrete floors. Recycled gas bottles have been used as light shades and local and international photographs, paintings and other such artworks are displayed on the walls for sale. These change every few weeks so there is always something to admire or, if you wish, silently bid for, while you sip.
The take away 'bar' fitted with the grooviest light in Brisbane
Whether you are seeking a place to leisurely sit and watch people pass by while sipping a cup of crowning coffee or an on-the-go coffee stop then here it is. Choose from the four unique sitting areas, the first of which is located on the footpath of Boundary Street with versatile wooden stools acting as chairs and tables, or, to escape the busyness you may choose the rear deck-styled area. If you prefer indoor settings then there are two options, one with wide wooden benches and the other with small tables and stools. Enjoy delicious delights with your coffee such as the brownies and other sweeties on offer because these will definitely satisfy all temptations.
