Nestled in the heart of Darling Harbour, Two88 Bar & Kitchen , located within Crowne Plaza , stands as a testament to the art-deco movement and the craft of fine drinking. Recently, I had the pleasure of experiencing an unforgettable night at this intimate wine and cocktail bar, where they unveiled their latest concept featuring carefully curated meats and cheeses, paired with locally sourced wines and cocktails infused with native Australian ingredients and botanicals.



As I stepped into Two88, located within the welcoming embrace of Crowne Plaza Darling Harbour, I couldn't help but be enchanted by the intimate and thoughtful interior design. The soft, inviting glow of the dim lighting, coupled with the art-deco-inspired décor, created an atmosphere that felt like a warm embrace. Yes, I know that's major! If you're scrolling endlessly trying to find the perfect spot for date night, don't worry I have you covered. You've come to the right place.

The concept of slicing locally and internationally sourced meats and cheeses to order, measured by weight, added a personal touch to the dining experience. Each bite was a carefully orchestrated dance of flavours, a testament to the thoughtfulness behind every dish and drink.

Being a lover of cocktails, I couldn't resist diving into Two88's menu of traditional favourites and modern twists, all infused with native Australian ingredients and botanicals. When scanning through the menu, all that came to me was "unique"!

The Passionfruit Mojito instantly transported me to the sun-kissed fields of Queensland. Dark Rum, Light Rum, fresh passionfruit puree, mint, and lime, topped with soda, created a refreshing concoction that was like a tropical breeze in a glass. Served with candied lime and fresh mint, it was love at first sip.



The Lemon Myrtle Sour followed, a dance of smoked bourbon, lemon juice, lemon myrtle-infused cane syrup, and aquafaba. Shaken and served over ice with candied lemon, it was a symphony of smoky and citrusy notes, leaving a lingering taste that kept me coming back for more. This is a must try! It's the kind of drink James Bond would order if he fancied a little Australian twist.

Now, let's talk food. The Riverina Angus Beef Sirloin, adorned with red wine jus and paired with Creamy Mashed Potatoes, was a taste of heaven. And the Char-grilled Corn Cob with Togarashi and lime? Staff favourite for a reason. It's the kind of side dish that steals the show.
