Each Anzac Day, pubs, clubs and venues around Australia are legally allowed to gamble and bet on "Two Up", for one day only. This game was played in the trenches in World War 1 and is a game still enjoyed by Diggers (and the whole of Australia!) today. A "spinner" holds a paddle with two pennies on it and flips it up in the air, meanwhile participants bet on whether the coins will land face up with two heads (evens) or one head and one tails (odds). "Come in Spinner" can be heard when all bets have been placed and the coins are ready to toss. There is nothing more Australian than playing Two Up on Anzac Day around the country - with many venues in Canberra taking part. The following 12 venues will be hosting games after noon and will be calling out "Come in Spinner" this Anzac Day, 2017.
