With distinctive orange umbrellas, wide booth-style seating and friendly staff, Two Monks cafe offers a comfortable place to meet up with friends – and a decent chai latte.

Gaining bonus points for having an all-day breakfast, the menu is standard but imaginatively named; try 'The Coburger' for a beef burger with chilli jam, or any of the foccaccias (weekdays only) named after local streets. Their French Toast is thick and eggy, and the staff won't get offended if you leave the bacon behind. Most meals are in the $10 - $16 range, with drinks around the $3-$4 mark.

You can book a table or just show up, but watch out – this busy cafe can get pretty crowded on weekends, so you might find yourself vying for a table or squeezed in beside a pram. If you want to suss it out before you visit, Two Monks can be chased down on Twitter or Facebook for up-to-date information and sneak peeks of new specials.

Two Monks Cafe is located on Sydney Road, between Moreland and Coburg train stations. There's also a branch in Richmond, on Bridge Road.
