This August, Mukka, a popular Indian restaurant in Fitzroy, is once again hosting a day of lunch specials and family-friendly activities in honour of Indian Independence Day.
All are welcome to join in the awesome festivities which include the opportunity to sample traditional Indian cuisine and enjoy a fun-filled day out at Edinburgh Gardens.
This special celebration will be held on Sunday 26th August 2018, from 11am to 5 pm. Head over to Mukka, on 365 Brunswick Street, at 11am and take advantage of an exclusive Two for One Thali special!
Thali, meaning a round tray or a plate, is a delicious Indian meal made up of a selection of various dishes. This selection of dishes varies from region to region in India and is usually served in small bowls on a round tray. Mukka will be serving South Indian Thali from 11 am on Sunday 26th August 2018. Think Medu Vadai, Dosas, curries with lots of mustard seeds and curry leaves. They are the bomb!
After your delicious lunch with your family and friends, head over to Edinburgh Gardens (approximately a 15-minute walk or take the tram or car) and look out for the colourful Mukka marquee! You will be invited to fly kites, play carom board, chomp on yummy Gulab Jamuns (Indian sweets) and sip on warming chai. There will also be a henna artist.
It's sure to be a fabulous day out for all who attend! If you come on Sunday 26th August, the sky will be dotted with kites of various hues, shapes, and sizes. This popular activity is carried out nationwide in India and the tradition is associated with the spirit of freedom.
Last year's event was a blast, so Mukka couldn't help but throw another one! All are welcome to attend this celebration - bring your family and friends and pass on the invite. Entry is free and the Thali will be available at a two for one discount! Simply RSVP now at Eventbrite!
