Delicious food, excellent service
It was enjoyable to relax outside on this warm spring day, brilliant blue sky with specks of woolly clouds. We sat under the glass canopy at one of the newest cafes in the burgeoning strip of eateries at Lane Cove Plaza. This village green is a hub for singles and couples to stroll along, as well as a place for families to sit and watch their children play under the sails. The food establishments in this village square would need to deliver excellent service and quality food in order to remain in competition with the other eateries. Two Brothers Cafe Restaurant, which has been in Lane Cove for eleven months, delivered this standard exceptionally well.

We began with drinks. Freshly squeezed orange juice, another freshly squeezed juice of orange and apple, then a strawberry spider were brought out. All the drinks were refreshing and delicious.

The main courses were next. Two pieces of John Dory fish with a lemon butter sauce was beautiful, with a side of mixed salad. It was surprising to see the size of this fish dish.

The blackboard special of Veal Scaloppini was very moist and tasty, also with a side of mixed salad.

The chicken and mushroom omelette that arrived for my daughter was huge and lip-smacking.

My son ordered the Two Brothers Club Sandwich which was very tasty. We all had mouth-watering chips with our lunch and we remarked on the taste and crunchiness of the humble spud.

We ordered two desserts between the four of us. Mr Faye's eye kept wandering to the Chocolate Mudcake. This cake, I'm happy to report, was not as dense as some mudcakes. It was melt-in-the-mouth chocoholics delight. The ice cream was an added bonus.

I peered through the window at the assortment of cakes and ordered the Apple Strudel with icecream. It was deceptive through the glass, as the Strudel was a stand-alone apple structure, literally apple chunks filling every crevice of the Strudel. It was gobsmackingly good.

The only drawback were the tables which were small for four people but we managed to accommodate the large plates plus our drinks without too much fuss. The service was professional, attentive and friendly. If there were stars to be handed out, I would give five out of five stars.
