Summer school holidays are here, with balmy evenings and starry nights, creating the perfect backdrop for FREE flicks in the park. As a follow-up to the first Flicks in the Park, The Grinch, Coolum Business & Tourism, Salty Saturdays Coolum Beach and Sunshine Coast Music and Events are proud to be showcasing an additional two FREE Flicks in the Park throughout January 2025.

DESPICABLE ME4 (PG)
SATURDAY 4 JANUARY 2025, FROM 6.00pm



Of all the Minions, Despicable Me4 provides a touching reflection on what it means to be a parent. Gru welcomes a new member to the family, Gru Jr, who is quite intent on tormenting his dad. Their tranquil lifestyle soon comes crashing down when a criminal mastermind, Maxime Le Mal, escapes from prison and vows revenge against Gru. The main message from Despicable Me4 is to never underestimate the bonds of family.

According to those in the know, the animated family comedy Despicable Me4 is a movie promising fun and laughter.

SHREK (PG)
SATURDAY 18 JANUARY, FROM 6.00pm



When the grumpy ogre, Shrek, discovers his swamp has been taken over by all sorts of fairytale creatures exiled by the mean Lord Farquaad, Shrek sets out with a very loud donkey by his side to persuade Farquaad to give Shrek his swamp back. Instead, a deal is made. Farquaad wants to become king and so sends Shrek to rescue Princess Fiona, who is awaiting her true love in a tower, guarded by a fire-breathing dragon.

Shrek is an animated fantasy comedy, loosely based on a children's picture book by William Steig - good entertainment for the whole family.

Movie lovers are encouraged to arrive early, bring a picnic blanket and some chairs, find the perfect spot and settle in to enjoy some live music and face painting before the commencement of the movie. Raid the piggy bank, there will be hot dogs, snacks and sweets available to purchase - all adding to that authentic movie experience!



Screening will commence around 6.30 pm, or as soon as the sun goes down.
