The Muppet Christmas Carol
Rating: G

What a way to start the count down towards Christmas. This is a musical fantasy-comedy adaptation of Charles Dickens's novel A Christmas Carol and follows Dicken's famous tale quite closely. But adding the Muppets makes it even more child friendly. Kermit and friends tell their version of the classic tale of an old and bitter miser's (played by Michael Caine) redemption on Christmas Eve. The film was produced and directed by Brian Henson for Jim Henson Productions, and released by Walt Disney Pictures.

Movie commences at 8.30 pm

Friday 18 December - Skinner Reserve, Braybrook

Elf
Rating: G

A baby accidentally ends up being raised as an elf after sneaking into Santa's toy bag and being whisked off to the North Pole. Much of the humour comes from the fact that he is three times the size of his adopted elf family. But Buddy heads back to New York City to seek out his roots. Here he finds that everyone seems to have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas. But using his simple elfen ways he sets out to save Christmas as well as being reunited with some of his human family. Great message of honesty, acceptance, and affection for all humanity. The very funny Will Ferrell plays Elf.

This evening will include children's activities and a sausage sizzle from 6pm.

Movie commences at 8:30 pm

Friday 15 January - Hansen Reserve, West Footscray

Shaun the Sheep Movie
Rating: G

Yarraville Gardens
Yarraville Gardens

From the creators of Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run. Shaun takes the day off to have some fun but gets a lot more than he bargains for when his friend follow him. And it becomes his responsibility to return everyone home safely. As one reviewer said "this film is so gently clever you won't want it to end" and apparently the visual gags keep coming even after the final credits so roll around on the grass a little longer while the credits roll.

Paper Planes
Friday 22 January - Yarraville Gardens, Yarraville

Rating: G
Movie commences at 8.30 pm
This recent release is a charming movie. Twelve-year-old Dylan journeys to compete in the world paper plane championships in Japan. The story is about the close bond he develops with junior Japanese champion Kim. A film about friendship rather than competition and another gorgeous heart-warming family movie.

Movie commences at 8.30 pm

Or why not cross town for another set of free movies in Boorondara. They also have a great line up in their beautiful parks.
