I'm so egg-cited, my favourite twilight markets have been scheduled - you know the ones…the ones that only happen at special times of the year? Well, a special time is coming up again and the egg-straordinary Twilight Markets in Caloundra are all happening over the Easter holidays. How egg-citing is that! Yep, I know, the 'eggs' part is pretty corny!

We have three Friday dates - 30 March, 6 April and 13 April - over the Easter season, where we can look forward to a night of fun, food and festivities. Friday night is a fabulous time to enjoy a night out with friends and family on Bulcock Beach Esplanade. Get there early, have a swim and enjoy a spectacular sunset (weather permitting) over the Pumicestone Passage.
Or, alternatively grab the children and walk the Downtown Caloundra Street Art Trail - treasure hunting the kids will love! The Art Trail loop is only 1.7km and has nine street artworks, waiting to be discovered - a fantastic way to spend an hour or two before venturing down to the Twilight Markets for some supper and shopping under the stars.
The Twilight Markets feature at least one hundred unique stalls offering everything from street food to gourmet sweets, to fashion and even jewellery. Fun activities and street performers abound to keep the children entertained. No word yet on the Easter Bunny, but if we promise to be well behaved, this fluffy bundle of calorie-defying joy, might just hop into the picture on Bulcock Esplanade.
The Easter Caloundra Twilight Markets have some excellent live entertainment lined up too. On Friday 30 March look out for Juzzie Smith, a one-man band, hailing from Byron Bay and Snow in Fernie, who promise a performance that guarantees to entertain. The easy-listening live performers will be entertaining between 5.30pm and 8.30pm. Just as a matter of interest, Snow in Fernie are available to perform at weddings too and are very happy to create the perfect atmosphere for your special day. So if wedding bells are tolling in the near future, this is another great excuse to get to the Twilight Markets on Friday 30 March and have a chat with this awesome duo!

The surprises just keep coming. The Twilight Markets Caloundra have organised different entertainment for Friday 6 April - how awesome is that! Dave Stygall and Jake Hill will be performing live on the first Friday in April. Dave Stygall describes himself as a Rat Pack Crooner, singing the songs of Sinatra, Martin, Cole and many other 'Rats' from the great era of Swing. Jake Hill is a singer/songwriter who hails from Brisbane and just loves to share music with his audience.
I can't seem to glean any information on who the live entertainment will be on Friday 13 April, but perhaps that's a surprise and still 'in the works'. Keep your eyes and ears open by using this link to the Twilight Markets Caloundra facebook page for any new developments on this front.
A fabulous egg-scuse to kick-back at the end of a week with friends and family over the Easter holidays! Bookmark all three dates and mark this article on your 'to do' list, ensuring you don't miss out on some fabulous shopping under the stars in a truly special location.
PS If the food trucks are too hectic, why not pop into the Sandbar Cafe and Kiosk. A win-win as this Cafe's location is perfect for sunset viewing and usually has fantastic 'specials' over the holidays.
A truly special location to do some fabulous shopping under the stars!
