Dreaming with the stars
Outdoor Promotion Banner of the Twilight Concert in the Park Series
Spring is here! Time to shake off the winter blues and enjoy some great night outs. Come and join me to the Twilight Concert in The Park Series organised by the Ku-ring-gai Council. They are free public events with two free al fresco concerts to be held at Wahroonga Park on Saturday 15 September and Saturday 20 October 2012.
Last Night at the Proms-Ku-ring-gai style will showcase the talented soprano Amelia Farrugia, who is regarded as one of the brightest stars of opera in Australia. The Opera-House international performer together with pianist Tamara Anna Cislowska will collaborate with Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra; together they will perform popular family- friendly orchestral songs to start the night of their 40th anniversary celebrations. The event will be held from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Saturday, 15 September. For more about the performer and her stories, please visit Amelia Farrugia's website on www. ameliafarrugia.com.

Jazz Classics is a great night out for all Jazz lovers. The event will feature the elite jazz singer Monica Trapana and her band, The Bachelor Pad. Monica Trapana possesses a vast array of talents. She is a beloved children's program presenter, an entertainer, and now a successful retailer of the brand name "RECLAIM" with two vintage furniture and homewares stores in Surry Hill and Newtown. She will perform the classic jazz and swing favourites that will remind you those good old days. On the same night, three dashing performers of The Rats Pack's Back will share the stage "in the popular style of the infamous American Rat Pack". They will sing and dance to the world's beloved songs by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jnr. You can log on to the artists' website to get more information about their performance at www.monica.com.au an www.sma-ebd.com/acts/the-rat-pack
It would be a great idea to pack up your picnic blanket and chairs and enjoy a starlight picnic while watching the performance. Public transport will be the ideal way to travel down to Wahroonga Park since there is limited street parking around the park. You can travel down to Wahroonga train station and the Wahroonga Park is right opposite the train station on Millewa Avenue side. Food and Wine stalls are also available in the park.
