Red Hill Gallery in Red Hill is announcing the Twelve Days of Xmas sale where each day promises a different surprise.S tarting with 12 Keith Rowe Baubles, 11 Porter Etchings, 10 Starr Sketches, 9 Christine Reillys, 8 Jan Prior pastels, 7 Karen Atkins Boxes, 6 Doherty necklaces, 5 Robert Wynne pears, 4 Bill Powell ceramics, 3 Marais Chooks, 2 Moran bookends and a Denise Murray Cold Cast Bronze.
I will try and give you one or two of the surprises here. This is the time of year when we are all wondering what to get our loved ones and truth be told, we sometimes struggle to find things which are meaningful and lasting. Particularly as in this day and age it is to easy to cash in on the good, but cheap ideas the market has to offer. Sometimes those choices bring a smile for Xmas day but dare I say, they don't last more than that and in this current climate, I am becoming more and more sensitive to the choices we make. So giving someone you love a work of art is not only a lasting gift which may even gain value on your wall (instead of it being consigned to landfill), but it also a reminder that the creativity of humans is everlasting and ever-changing and one that we can all take pleasure from. Often many hours of work and care have gone into producing the artwork.
Red Hill is a well-established gallery and caters to many and varied tastes. They work hard at covering an expansive collection of artwork. You will find watercolours, oils, ceramics, sculptures, bowls and glassware or dainty artefacts. It sounds cliched but could not be truer, that there is something for everyone.
Go along and check it out. There might just be a surprise in the next twelve days which will be the right one for you and yours.
