Since April,
Melbourne Museum has been host to 'Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs.' The exhibition is now in its final weeks, finishing on the 4th of December.
If you haven't seen it yet, it's well worth making the time to pay a visit. For the past five years, the exhibition has been doing the rounds of the United States and Europe. Melbourne is the only venue in Australia that will have this amazing collection of artefacts found in the King's tomb.
The Museum runs staggered session times throughout the day which you can
book online . This means that only a certain amount of people are permitted in the exhibition at any given time, so you're guaranteed to get a good look at all the precious items, such as the crown found on King Tutankhamun's head when his mummified body was discovered.
The exhibition also tells the beautiful story of what life and death meant in Ancient Egypt, also giving an insight into religion and burial traditions. It's truely fascinating to come so close to items that are not only over three thousand years old, but were also belongings that were so significant in the lives of the people who owned them.
Head to the Museum this weekend and see 'Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs', as it will leave Australia when it finishes this current run. It really is well worth the visit.
