Christmas season is almost synonymous with scrumptious meals. But if you are worried about piling on the pounds this season, fret not. The answer is: Turkey. Nutritionally, turkey breast is an excellent low fat, high protein food. It is also an inexpensive source of iron, zinc, phosphorus, potassium and vitamins B. We bring you this easy, quick and warm recipe (for two) that will make you the culinary queen or king in an instant.

You will need two medium onion roughly sliced, 2-3 roughly sliced garlic cloves, two turkey breast slices, ½ cup of chicken stock, a sprig of finely chopped rosemary, some finely chopped parsley, two tablespoons of skimmed milk and a 2-3 tablespoons of white wine, salt, pepper to taste, red bell pepper cut into four, some pistachios and some olive oil for cooking.

Divide the sliced onion and garlic mixture equally. You will be making the gravy and cooking the breasts simultaneously in two different pans.

Marinate the turkey breasts with two teaspoons of sliced onion and garlic mixture as well as the chopped rosemary and parsley plus salt and pepper. Leave it aside for ten minutes.

Meanwhile, heat 2 teaspoons of olive oil in a pan and sauté one portion of the onion and garlic mixture (which has been divided earlier). Wait till this turns golden brown.

In another pan, cook the turkey breasts on a low flame turning it on both the sides. Add rest of the onion and garlic mix and cook till it caramelizes.

In the first pan, add the chicken stock and splash of water. Let it simmer for five minutes. Add the milk and wine. Cook it in a low flame for about ten minutes.

Check the other pan; cook the turkey pieces for about 15 minutes on both sides. Add the bell peppers and cook it for about five minutes till it turns blackish. You can check the turkey is cooked by piercing it with a fork. If the fork comes out clean then your turkey is ready.

Season your gravy with salt and pepper according to your taste. Check for the consistency; if it is too loose add a tablespoon of plain flour and cook for another 10 minutes.

Take your steaks in a plate when it's hot, place the bell-peppers on top of the turkey steaks, pour the gravy on the side and add 2-3 pistachios on top for garnishing.
