Turimetta Beach is a 'secret beach' on Sydney's Northern Beaches. It's an unpatrolled beach, reached by steps down from the high cliffs at either end.

It's much quieter and more unspoilt than most Sydney beaches, with thick, dark gold sand, and yellow flowers growing all over the dunes.

There are wonderful flat, black rocks at the south end of the beach, scored into perfect geometric triangles. The waves wash over these creating little rockpools, waterfalls and rivulets, which are fun for children to wade through and explore.

Turimetta Beach doesn't have any facilities (such as public bathrooms, cafés or lifeguards) but if you want somewhere more secluded it's a lovely option. At the top of the southern steps is a grassy area with a freshwater tap for rinsing off.

Please note this beach is not dog friendly: the only Pittwater waterfront area that is for unleashed dogs is Rowland Reserve Bayview.
