Tumbalong Lights is a stunning collection of interactive-play installations which form an inclusive and accessible Vivid Lights experience for both children and the young at heart.This year, families can look forward to five spectacular installations which celebrate the art of play and the joy of discovery in honour of the 50th anniversary of the lunar landing.Located in the heart of Darling Harbour, the space-themed installations offer creative, awe-inspiring light experiences which help produce a sense of empowerment, control and community, while at the same time inspire fun and playfulness.
The installations have been produced using the principles of 'universal design' so that people of all ages and abilities can enjoy a trip to outer space and:Jam with a very funky 'Alien Visitor'Experience 'Under the Milky Way' through indigenous dreamingRace their mates at 'Space Balls', an inter-galactic planetary spin on the old favourite game 'marble run'.Catch a glimpse of oneself mirrored through ground-breaking technology, in 'See What I See', by renowned artist Digby Webster. Take a journey 'To the Moon and Back' in under three minutes!
Then conclude your visit by taking a moment to view the stop motion animation
One Giant Leap about the moon landing created by Bus Stop Films.
All are welcome to come along and play at the inclusive Tumbalong Lights playSpace from 24 May to 15 June.
