on Lake Tuggeranong is a ten hectare park with skate bowl, playground, bike paths, BBQ's, community stage and exercise areas. The Park has recently been given a $870K facelift and although there are some barricades still up (at the time of writing), the park is accessible for everyone to enjoy. The impressive entrance to the park is located in Anketell Street, with formal gardens and views straight down to Tuggeranong Lake.

Due to the scale of there are huge expanses of grass for kids to safely run around on and bike paths to ride. I visited with my daughter, aged four, who easily rode her scooter around the pathways alongside casual cyclists.
The paths have been upgraded so they are now suitable for prams, wheelchairs, adult bikes and children's scooters. There is a shady and winding path around the edge of the lake with ducks and water birds hiding in the reeds. The trees in the park provide a large amount of shade, ideal for exercising in the warmer months.

is part of the Lake Tuggeranong Circuit, a 6.7km running and bike path around the entire manmade lake, which is popular with exercise enthusiasts. For those who like to workout outside, there is a new outdoor exercise equipment area for people to stop and utilise as part of their outdoor training.

On the weekday that we visited, the playground at was popular with mothers groups and families, gathering under the shady trees for picnics. There is a large fort which looks more suited for older children, however we found that younger children (our four year old included) were also able to traverse the bridge to get onto the fort.

The upgrade includes a new sun sail and shade over the toddler playground. It also includes a bouncy frog, swing and small slide as well as older bouncy equipment.

In a separate area there are more swings and a sandpit with bulldozer equipment, which is popular with all aged children.

For older kids there is the Skate Bowl adjacent to the park- one of the most popular skate parks in the area.

is often the meeting ground for community events with a permanent stage in the grounds. During Christmas this is where the town gathers for the annual Carols by Candlelight, run by the Salvation Army. The remainder of the year it is a handy location for boot camps, personal training and exercise enthusiasts.

On weekends the BBQ areas are popular, with birthday parties often taking over the new area. The BBQ's are in a good location not far from the carpark so you don't have to carry the esky too far, yet close enough to the playground for the kids to play in afterwards.

is located on Tuggeranong Lake with an abundance of birdlife on the shores. It is an ideal place for feeding the ducks with younger children and looking out for swans and their young. Our family, new to Tuggeranong, have been to the playground previously, however this was the first time we had explored the whole park and checked out the recent upgrades. With a large playground, bike paths, exercise equipment and birdlife to watch, there is a lot to do for the whole community at this central park.

There is also a new seating area overlooking the lake, a peaceful place to relax and listen to the silence, just minutes from Tuggeranong Town Centre.
