Tuesday nights have just got a whole lot more exciting with the launch of Quizmeister's Trivia at The Jubilee Hotel.

The Jubilee's revamped, Mexican-themed bar overflowed with laughs and liveliness at the opening night on 2 July.


It was QUIZadillas verse ConQUIZtadors and Senores verse Senoritas as over 20 teams battled it out for the $1000 prize.

(That's right, every week there will $1000 up for grabs!)

Perhaps it was the lively atmosphere, maybe the margaritas and tequila shots, most likely a combination of the two … either way, it was the best trivia I have ever been to. Like, EVER.

Hosted by the youthful, vivacious Thomas Armstrong-Robley, the trivia night comprised classic spoken questions ("How many seconds does it take for the sun's light to reach Earth?") as well as multi-media activities.

It was the latter that I found most exciting.

For one activity, each team had to send a member outside, while a video clip played on the two new plasma display screens above the bar. The clip showed the pixelated face of a celebrity.
"The face will begin to get clearer," out host explained. "The first team to text the celebrity's name to the team member they've sent outside wins the round."

It was the ultimate test of eyesight and phone reception.

After two rounds of 30 questions, some scrumptious enchiladas and a whole lot of fun, Quizmeister's first show came to an end (a really happy end for team ConQUIZtadors, who left $1000 richer).

But with only one-point gaps between the scores of every team, it seems next Tuesday night's trivia could be anyone's game.


"What an amazing opening show at The Jubilee!" said Tom, the Trivia Host.
"We had a goal to get 50-80 players tonight and proudly I can say by 7:35pm we had 21 teams and 105 players!"
Tuesday Night Trivia is well on its way to becoming the biggest in Brisbane.

Also, Quizmeisters boasts the title of "The World's Least Shit Pub Trivia" (in the actual in Guinness Book of Records).

Which is quite an achievement.

And which is one of the many reasons you should get to The Jubilee Hotel this/ next/ ideally every Tuesday night!

PS: If you've got a young genius in the family, bring him or her along - under 18's are welcome at The Jubilee until 10pm.
