This winter, escape to the charming village of Flinders on the Mornington Peninsula and immerse yourself in the world of truffles - one of the world's most expensive and sought-after ingredients!The unique and indulgent 'Truffle Lovers Weekend' package is proudly presented by the Flinders Hotel. In partnership with Truffle Melbourne and Red Hill Truffles, guests will be treated to an enlightening masterclass, a truffle hunting experience, an extravagant 5-course truffle dinner and overnight luxury stay for one exclusive price! The Truffle Lovers Weekend kicks off on Saturday 24th of June, 2017 with an interactive truffle masterclass at Georgie Bass Café and Cookery. Award winning Head Chef Michael Cole will introduce guests to the 'black diamond' truffle and share preparation secrets and delicious recipes which can be recreated at home. The 2-hour masterclass concludes with a chance to sample a truffle brûlée tart and truffle ice cream. Then it is time to head off to Red Hill Truffles and meet Jenny and her trusty sidekick, Thomas. Jenny and Thomas will show guests how to uncover the intoxicating perfume of fresh truffles from the earth. At the conclusion of the hunt, guests will be treated to a delicious light meal. Make sure to pack your gumboots! As the sun sets, Flinders Hotel will offer a 5-course degustation dinner with a 'worldly twist'. Each dish will be prepared by chefs trained in the cuisines of 3 of the world's top truffle-growing regions – France, Italy and Australia. Each course will be complemented with Mornington Peninsula wines and the evening will culminate in amusing anecdotes and fantastic door prizes. After dinner, guests can retreat to their luxurious accommodation at Quarters.
