Bingo, spelling bees, and now
trivia nights—it appears as though a great segment of the populace enjoys a little friendly competition with strangers while drinking a cold one. If you access absurd or arcane facts about medieval Russian icons, know all the color combinations of the world's flags, or can match appropriate pet names to the former presidents who owned them, then you may want to know where to spar with local geniuses. And if the popularity of MoMA's recent PopRally: Pop Quiz is any arbiter of what's hip, then look out…here come the know-it-alls…

Many neighborhood bars host small weekly game nights, most on rotating schedules and some with fascinating and engaging hosts like gender-bender Murray Hill whose long-running bingo night is a big draw at the Village club Le Poisson Rouge. Check out this list of our current trivia night favorites.
