Trivia champion, anyone?

If you take pride in your ability to answer random questions on various topics but do not want to take centre stage or feel the pressure under the 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire Spotlight', trivia may be the solution.

In fact, the team atmosphere is slightly more sociable compared to watching television quizzes at home, screaming at the television and insisting that you would have done a better job than the current contestant.

So, why not get a group together and have fun learning about different topics while proving your mantle? See below for some of the locations where you can take part in a trivia night and show off your general knowledge.

1) The Fox Hotel

Located at the corner of Melbourne and Hope Street, South Brisbane, the Fox hotel has foodie prices up to the value of $1,000 for grabs. Held on Wednesday nights from 7pm at the Long Bar, the Fox Hotel has Quiz Meisters working their magic by ensuring Brisbane's tastiest trivia. Comprising of audio visual elements and twisted humour, you and your friends will be guaranteed a night of merriment.

2) Archive Beer Boutique

Located at 100 Boundary Street, West End, Brisbane, the Archive Beer Boutique combines beer, bistro and trivia on Tuesday nights starting from 7pm. A gold coin donation is required for entry and it is open to teams of all sizes. They are open seven days a week from 11am til late.

3) The Brunswick Hotel



Located at 569 Brunswick Street, New Farm, the Brunswick Hotel has trivia nights on three different nights if you can't get enough of it. Held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7.30pm, entry fee is $4 per person. Teams can be as small or as big as you like with points accrued over the season with the opportunity to win $1000 in the finals.

4) Hamilton Hotel



Located at 442 Kingsford Smith Drive, Hamilton, the Hamilton Hotel has a special Havoc Geek Busters Trivia for the secret geeks at heart. Held on Tuesday nights from 7pm, the trivia is currently taking a holiday and will be back in the swing of things from Tuesday the 21st of January. With $5 kids meals in January, bring your kid along and they may turn out to be a budding Trivia genius!

5) Australian National Hotel



Located at 867 Stanley St, Woolloongabba, the #item_21295 ">Australian National Hotel or "the Nash" hosts a comedy trivia every Tuesday night. Registration starts at 6.30pm for a 7.30pm start. Hosted by the same guys as the Fox Hotel – the Quiz Meisters, fight it out for $50 cash as the first prize. If you are a fan of schnitzel and rump, come in early from 5.30pm for a cheap $5 meal.

6) The Chalk Hotel

Located opposite the Woolloongabba bus way, the Chalk Hotel has a traditional trivia night every Tuesday. You will be surrounded by a lot of other enthusiasts, with around 100 players each week. The trivia night here is an interactive experience with video screens used throughout the venue with some great prizes up for grabs.
