Tripelpunkt. An awesome triple billing dance performance by ]Bonnie Curtis Projects[/LINK], a Sydney based dance company.
The first performance intoxicates your senses. Ritualistic and romantic, this performance entices the audience into a world that is about to open and immerse them. Created by and choreographed by Kara Peake.
Vogelsang[. is all about engaging the physical. The female form, how it connects and disconnects. Vogelsang explores how relationships between bodies and space form, evolve, disintegrate and transform before our eyes. Beautifully performed, the individual aspects of each performer add a gentle subtle sense of the work being personal.
Girls, Girls, Girls.[explores the deepest darkest thoughts of the modern Australian woman. With reviews stating that this is "hilarious", "funny" and "provocative". Loud, fun, thought-provoking and engaging the shift from the smooth curvaceous floor work of Voglesang, to the more contemporary mind altering movements of women possessed. Or one woman,s nightmare that is expressed through the tensions between all who dare enter her dream space.
There is more to these performances. The French-inspired oxygenating balloon piece. The Insta fashion-inspired fashion parade invoking stereotypical imaginings one step beyond real to create a hilarious social discourse that says the unsayable.
The set of three shows were totally engaging. There was not a moment that you were not truly engaged with what was happening in front of you. Bonnie Curtis Projects create not just a performance of dance, but an experience that brings you along with the dancers and creators.
