Countdown the Hottest 100 here
It's that time of year again. Time to tune in to the Triple J Hottest 100 annual music poll. Find out who will win the coveted number one spot at an official Hottest 100 Countdown Party, held at venues all over Australia on Australia Day. These are my top five picks for parties in Brisbane.
The Exchange Hotel
The Exchange Hotel (131 Edward Street, Brisbane) will launch the long weekend with Triple J's Hottest 100 Countdown on Saturday, January 26. Then on Sunday, January 27, the Exchange will host a live Unearthed artist showcase featuring Diana Anaid Duo (Sydney), Kingswood (Melbourne), and Brisbane's own Blonde on Blonde, and Ben Stewart.
Join the massive two day car park party at the Normanby Hotel (Red Hill) on January 26 and 27. Listen to Triple J, play beach volleyball, or race an esky in the inaugural Normanby 1000w Esky Races. Live music, DJs, and an Aussie barbecue will round out this fun-filled weekend.
Rics's Bar (Fortitude Valley) will celebrate all weekend long. Relax in Ric's Big Backyard on Australia Day with a barbecue, beer, backyard cricket, and Triple J's Hottest 100. Celebrate late into the night with Ric's resident DJs. The party continues on Sunday and Monday with more music including live bands and backyard DJs.
The Gabba Hotel (Woolloongabba) will celebrate Australia Day with a Unique Boutique Triple J Party featuring all day specials on boutique Australian beers, an Aussie barbecue, and the Hottest 100. Live entertainment kicks off right after the number one song is announced.
