There are six triathlon events on in the coming months, so read the article to see if you are able to enter into any of these!

If you feel you are unable to enter one of these, it is also great excitement to go and be a spectator at any of these events.

1. Bunbury City Classic
This will be held on Sunday 25th March, 2018

This event consists of three distances, including the Olympic Distance, which is a long distance and is the fourth race of the 2017/18 SunSmart Triathlon Series.

It will be held at Back Beach, Ocean Drive in Bunbury and this venue provides excellent opportunities for people of all ages and fitness levels to "have a go" at a triathlon.

The swim course runs close to the beach and is also brilliant for spectators, as they can watch the event from the boardwalk, which is adjacent to the beach.

2. City of Armadale Triathlon
This one will be held on Sunday 18th February, 2018 at Champion Lakes Regatta Centre in Armadale.

This is the first time Armadale has been included in the Duathlon, and it will give people living in that area a chance to enter.

The 6 race pack is entry into the City of Armadale Duathlon plus all 5 SunSmart Triathlon Series races (Pursuit = Long Course Duathlon / Enticer = Short Course Duathlon)

The 5 race pack is entry into all 5 SunSmart Triathlon Series races.

3. City of Joondalup
This will be held on Sunday 15th April, 2018 at Whitfords Nodes Park, in Hillarys.

This race will also include an increase in the Pursuit distance and the introduction of the new Pursuit 2.0, which is the ultimate challenge for athletes who have already mastered the Pursuit distance.

Details of events in this second series for Joondalup are:

  • Pursuit 2.0 (1 km swim; 28 km ride; 8 km run)
  • Enticer (250 m swim; 7 km ride; 2 km run)
  • Tadpoles (100 m swim; 3 km ride; 500 m run)
  • Duathlon (5 km run; 20 km cycle; 2 km run)

  • 4. SunSmart Karri Valley Triathlon
This will be held on Saturday 17th March, 2018 from 7:00 am until Sunday 18th March, 12:00 noon.

Stadium Triathlon Club in association with the RAC Karri Valley Resort has hosted this event each year since 2003, so they will be celebrating 15 years this year!

The first lap of this will be a swim in the fresh waters of Lake Beedelup. After that, it's on to your bike with a hilly ride under the trees of the Karri Forest, where you can see the majestic views and charm of the Karri Valley Resort and surrounds during the road/trail run.

Saturday 17th will be the Long and Short course Races with the Trystar Kids Triathlon on Sunday morning - a fantastic weekend for the whole family, so make sure you book now. This event is not only for adults, but children can also enter.

    5. SunSmart Triathlon Busselton
Individual registrations for the 2018 SunSmart IRONMAN 70.3 Busselton are 70% sold out. As places are filling fast, you will need to register now to make sure you get a chance to enter into this race.

    About the Triathlon
The SunSmart Triathlon Series is WA's premier triathlon series, and it is held across different metro and regional locations from December through to May each year.

Some of the details about these events have changed this year and now include Champion Lakes Regatta Centre in Bunbury.

The duathlon race distances will also now be increased and the final Hillarys distance sprint will be longer than it used to be.
