What makes this show great is that it's funny and relevant. Every person (well, almost everyone) in the room just got it. The rest of us laughed because, although we haven't personally lived it, we know that that's how it is. All through the room heads were nodding, there was chuckling agreeance, sly laughs and that knowing look - yep - they've been there and they've done it.
Welcome to the world of Zuleika Khan - a real life Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department of The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne - Australia's major trauma centre. It's a hard job. It's a rewarding job. It's a messy job. And, sometimes there's laughter during her shift, and sometimes there's heartbreak.
In its return season to Adelaide, Triage is a one-woman cabaret show. RN and professional entertainer Zuleika shares her story with us - warts and all. She's pretty good at it too. NIDA and Victorian College of the Arts trained, Zulei is a Greenroom & Broadway World Award winner and her shows were pretty much sold out this Fringe Festival before the first show was open to the public. Triage sold out in two seasons in Melbourne, one of which was at the Melbourne Cabaret Festival.
Get along and see this show if you're into seeing the funny side of life and love a good belly laugh. Triage can be seen until the 5th of March - so be quick!
