Treehouse Picnic - Jesters Flat Horse Riding

I am literally the female version of Ewan McGregor from the film "Moulin Rouge". Full of fantasy with a rose coloured view on life. This weekend however, all my childhood dreams came true.
Trying restlessly for weeks to think of something to do to celebrate my partner's birthday, I concluded on something that leaned more towards "icky, lovey dovey", than the adventurous activity he'd been hinting at.
Margaret River was our home for the weekend. The chosen birthday surprise was a leisurely countryside horse ride. Not the most outrageous surprise in the world, but considering it was followed by a tree house picnic for the two us, it just seemed insanely cute. Booking at a business located just off caves road "Jesters Flat", I had no idea what to expect. I was blown out of the trees. It was fantastic!
Meeting the staff was an occasion in itself. So helpful and down to earth. One of the best features of this place was the roaring fire. Like an old cowboy film, with stones set around the edge and kids toasting marshmallows on it. After our exhilarating ride through the country, made for all capabilities may I add, we arrived back at the tree house, raring to eat our picnic.
I expected the standard sandwiches and crisps. How wrong was I? Local cheeses, port pâté, Turkish bread, olives, chocolate, quince jam, sundried tomatoes plus two bottles of wine. I'm dribbling just talking about it. Laden on a clichéd but perfect checkered cloth, brightened by the sun shining through the trees. It was such a nice experience. The treehouse has your table for two, sofas and a view to neigh for.
I would definitely recommend this. The ride I chose was specific to me, so we could spend some quality time together, though there are so many options and rides to choose from. They range from droving cows to lazy country lane rides. Go, ride and release your inner cowboy!
