Definitely a day to remember
Tree surfing - what can I say? It was a day I will never forget. I was with two 10 year olds and two 9 year old girls (including one who had a fear of heights). Needless to say, she completed the whole 5 courses along with the BIG swing.

We arrived 15 minutes before our time and got geared up. The actual Tree Surfing took us around 2 and a half hours. I'm sure others do it faster.

We did the basic training with the instructor where I joked with him about if we want to pull out mid course - it's not possible. But it is extremely safe.

This was my nine year old daughter's second time, which advised us that if you make it through the first one, you can make it though them all.

The first of five circuits

The girls were like little monkeys, lithe and gliding across the platforms. For me personally it was fun and challenging - I couldn't pull out when a 9 year old was going through with a fear of heights.

I met young boys on there who were loving it and the adrenalin of it all. And there was a father and daughter bonding together over the fun of it all. I could see how proud he was of his daughter.

The final course was definitely the hardest. The trapeze was the most challenging of the lot and the BIG swing - where you launch yourself off a platform into a net - is something I did not dare to conquer, but all of the girls overcame their fear and did it anyway.

Believe me, the heavier you are, the faster you go down those zip lines at the end. Funny how gravity works like that. I ended up with dirt and chip bark in my jeans from my heavy backward landings.

Overall it was a fantastic day out - the girls just loved it and a wonderful 10th birthday party for my daughter.

Hats off to anybody who completes this course. Heights are not my thing and even though it looks amazing I wouldn't go up there. I tyhink I shall just admire the trees from the ground.

That really looks like a lot of fun. I hope one day to get enough nerve to go zip-lining!

Interesting that children are brave enough to face their fears but adults baulk!
