With Valentine's Day around two weeks away, many of us are thinking about how to celebrate. Here are a few interesting places for a great romantic Valentine's Day celebrations.
Romantic Setting at Customs House
Customs House in Queen Street is a beautiful spot for a celebratory meal and with its fantastic views of the river and its eleven at inside dining room it is a perfect spot to celebrate Valentine's Day.
Customs House has a special Valentine's Day lunch menu with two ($67) or three ($85) course menus including tea or coffee. For this, you have a choice of four delicious items per course, such as scallops, quail, risotto, eye fillet, and a cherry and valrhona chocolate tart.
Or you can choose from a four-course dinner menu (including tea, coffee and chocolates) for $110, with similarly tempting menu items. See the menu here.
Tempting desserts at Customs House
The Flying Nun at Samford has a Valentine's Day dinner event for $65 for three courses per person.
The menu looks interesting, with offerings including twice cooked pork belly, Pablo crumbed prawns, cumin and fennel spiced lamb ribs, Atlantic salmon, spiced pumpkin, pine nuts and pea risotto, Eton's mess, and spiced salted caramel tart.
If you have ever been to The Flying Nun, then you know it is in a lovely set of wooden buildings connected by a wooden deck and nestled amongst a lush and beautiful garden. Seems like a suitably romantic spot to me. For more information see the website.
