I have a had a life-long love of the arts; enjoying theatre, ballet, art and movies. We are all time poor and have limits to our entertainment budget so I hope an honest review will help make your choices easier.
Vibrant and exciting - with entertainment for everyone
Brisbane Festival is currently running, with great entertainment and experiences across Brisbane. The Treasury Brisbane Arcadia, located in the Cultural Forecourt, South Brisbane is open 10am until late 8-29 September.
This is a vibrant, family-friendly space set against the Brisbane river. You can wander through the space and be entertained by a travelling troupe of performers - Renegade. Or grab a bite to eat or drink and watch the light show. This is also where you will find the House of Mirrors and Sťance.
The House of Mirrors is a mind-bending mazeó55 tonne of steel and mirrors will leave you thoroughly lost and confused. You will confidently turn a corner or walk down a path only to discover it is all an illusion and you have been walking around the same spot for the last five minutes. This is a fun family-friendly space. In fact, I really recommend that you either take a child or stalk a family that has. For some reasons, those little imps seem to know how this all works. So when all is lost, put on your best "I've got this face" and follow a five-year-old until you make it to the other side.
Sťance is more for adults. You will be plunged into absolute darkness and then bombarded with audio that will draw you into a sťance experience. This was a bit of giggle until a man whispered into my ear that I had been chosen for possession by a nasty demonic creature. Sorry, he said - really, "sorry" ........ man get out of my ear that is just creepy. If you scare easily pass on this one, otherwise it is worth a look.
